Cultures in Bloom was held at the Washi Bloom studio in Riyadh to celebrate Saudi National Day. The evening brought together Saudi hospitality and Japanese craft through ikebana, matcha and a tea ceremony.
Ikebana inspired by Saudi Arabia
Washi Bloom showed ikebana arrangements inspired by Saudi nature and heritage. Palm fronds and other familiar natural materials were arranged in the ikebana style.
Matcha tiramisu and a tea ceremony
Guests were served matcha tiramisu made with TORA Matcha, small sweets and tea. The evening continued with a tea ceremony.
A visit from Ambassador Morino
Yasunari Morino, Ambassador of Japan to Saudi Arabia, and his wife attended, together with guests from Saudi Arabia's cultural and community sectors. They viewed the ikebana works and the tea ceremony. Conversations turned to where the matcha comes from and how TORA Matcha started.
We thank everyone who attended, and the Washi Bloom team.
