A Date Bar Made for Japan
Since launching, Detsu Me has introduced Saudi Arabian dates to Japan through monthly pop-up events across the country.
Two things became clear over time.
People who already know dates recognized the quality immediately. They told us the taste and texture were different from what they had tried before.
People trying dates for the first time needed a gentler starting point. The natural sweetness and density of whole dates can feel unfamiliar.
That gap led us to develop something new.
Developed with a Japanese Chocolatier
Detsu Me's new date bars were created in collaboration with a Japanese chocolatier.
The goal was clear: preserve the distinctive qualities of Saudi Arabian dates while creating a product suited to the Japanese palate.
The recipes are built around dates, without additives or artificial flavoring.

Saudi dates paired with cranberry for a lighter, brighter balance. The cranberry's acidity rounds out the sweetness without masking it, making Berry an approachable choice for those new to dates.
